This advanced course is intended for TUK young scientists who already have some basic knowledge in Python and want to improve or deepen their programming knowledge in Python. The course is suitable for participants of the “PYTHON FOR BEGINNERS” course. (Bachelor and Master students are not eligible!)

Repetition and deepening of the most important basic concepts.
Writing your own modules and packages
Object-oriented programming with Python
Magic methods and operator overloading
lterators, generators, decorators, and threads
Tests, doctest and unit test
Connection to other programming languages
Database connectivity from Python and MySQL.
Graphical user interfaces (tk, Tkinter, Qt,...)
PC or laptop with (integrated) webcam as well as microphone and speakers (a headset would be optimal). A second monitor is optional but might be advantageous.
A good internet connection and quiet workplace.
You will receive information on software installation with the confirmation of participation.
Video conferencing tool: The seminar will take place via Zoom or Webex.
James Lockwood (Essential Data Science Training GmbH) has a Masters in Physics and is an expert in data science and statistics who worked on several data science projects at the cutting edge between machine learning and physics as well as in the field of market research. Furthermore, he has developed and conducted lots of courses for Python, R and Machine Learning and has been an experienced trainer for a few years.
