TU-Nachwuchsring research funding

TU Kaiserslautern wants to actively promote the visibility of its young scientists. That is why the TU-Nachwuchsring is calling for applications for research funding for postdocs, junior group leaders, junior
professors and tenure-track professors from every department at TU Kaiserslautern.

The goal of the funding is to support the applicants in a research project that serves to promote the applicants’ careers and is to be carried out within the framework of an activity at TU Kaiserslautern. The funded research project should either serve to prepare an application for outside funding or a fellowship (up to 10,000€) or result in a scientific publication (up to 3,000€). Projects that serve to promote young scientists and do not aim to obtain outside funding or to prepare a publication can be applied for within the framework of project funding of the TU-Nachwuchsring. The application for outside funding/fellowship or the publication must be submitted no later than one year after the start of the support.

Funding from the TU Nachwuchsring can be used for preliminary scientific work, such as running experiments and/or simulations, financing assistants, or for material resources. Funding cannot be used for travels to conferences (see funding line mobility funding) or to pay for the applicant’s own position or for material resources that are already covered by the core funding (Grundausstattung; e.g. costs for publications, books, software/hardware).

Good to know:

  • Prerequisite for funding is an individual membership in the TU-Nachwuchsring.
Please also note our criteria for using the offers of the TU-Nachwuchsring.
  • Young researchers who have already been funded by the TU-Nachwuchsring within the framework of research findung must provide a brief explanation of the status or their already approved project when submitting a new application. In these cases, additional funding is subject to proof of submission of the intended third-party funding application / publication.
