Funding lines for PhD students

The support of PhD students at the TUK is an essential issue for the TU Nachwuchsring. Besides further education courses, we offer financial support as well. On this page you will find information on all funding lines that are aimed at the target group of PhD students.

Mobility funding

PhD students registered at the TUK can apply for financial support from the TU Nachwuchsring for participation in external conferences and external research stays. If approved, the Nachwuchsring will cover a part of the travel costs and participation fees (maximum 80% of the costs). The mobility funding is advertised several times a year.

Further education

To promote interdisciplinary qualifications, the TU-Nachwuchsring offers doctoral students from all TUK departments a wide range of further education opportunities. These include both online and face-to-face seminars as well as e-learning courses that are available throughout the whole year.

In addition to the offers of the Nachwuchsring, you will find on our website a selection of courses offered by other TUK further education organisers and by TUK's affiliated institutes, which address PhD students as well.

Project funding

The purpose of project funding is to support projects which are not covered by other funding lines and which serve to promote TUK young scientists. This includes, for example, doctoral symposia organized by members of the TU Kaiserslautern.
